Job hunting as a young Gen-z in my early 20s feels like walking through a maze. The traditional approach of hunting for physical jobs is too frustrating, time consuming and ultimately unproductive. As a Gen-z with almost no experience, securing a physical and decent paying job feels impossible.

The truth is, majority of the jobs are just not worth the pay; whether it is an entry level job or retail job, the payment simply doesn’t worth the time and energy invested.

Additionally, companies seem to expect us to have the experience that we haven’t had the chance to gain. How do they expect us to build experience when no one is willing to give us the first chance? This leaves many young adults wondering: How do we survive in this economy?

With the rise of online jobs, it seems like a glimmer of hope for some. Remote work opportunities are growing, but even then, these roles often come with stiff competition and require skills we might not yet have developed. So what is the fate of young adults trying to make ends meet?

Are we fated to be stuck in an endless cycle of low-paying jobs? or is there a path that leads to sustainable and worthwhile careers? The future might seem uncertain, but one thing is clear, we need a change from how young adults are viewed as they transition into the workforce.
